The Week of May 6th

 Weekly Newsletter

Happy Mother's Day
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We truly appreciate all of the wonderful mothers of Room 21. I hope all of the Moms were met with gratitude and felt appreciated this Mother's Day weekend.

SRI and MAP Testing
SRI and MAP Testing will begin again this Monday. I have sent out emails to the parents of students who will take the tests this week. Our students will take the SRI Monday morning and we hope to finish MAP on Tuesday morning. We may not get it done in these two days. Please be
patient.

Final Conference Sign Up

Please be on the lookout for a SignUp Genius invitation for your final conference. Make sure you sign up for a conference time that is convenient for your family. Also, please be on time, conferences will be scheduled back to back. If you can't be on time, just reschedule for a later conference time.

May 13th

In preparation for field day, we need some help from parents. It is typically VERY HOT on field day. We have a parent volunteer who will set up and take down the tent. I will provide a  cooler, but your child will need to bring their own water bottle.
We also need parents to help us get to and from Daffin Park. It is not a far walk, but it seems long for children who are hot and tired at the end of the day. Any additional supervision and support we can get walking to and from the park will be a huge help.

If you did not purchase a Field Day Tshirt, please have your child wear a GREEN SHIRT. It helps to have all the kids in our class in the same color.

Please be sure to pack the following items in a bag labeled with your child’s name.
·        Water Bottle
·        Towel
·        Picnic style lunch (nothing to be microwaved)

Items needed for Field Day:
*large canopy tent – please email me if you can set up Friday morning and/or break down Friday afternoon
*sunscreen and bug spray applied PRIOR to coming to school.
* donation of ice pops for the class

Upcoming HEALTHY snack weeks for 24 students:
**We are a PEANUT FREE classroom.**
Some suggestions for snack are: precut fruit (apples, grapes, bananas cut in half, oranges, etc.), precut vegetables with hummus for dipping, cheese and crackers, granola bars or chewies, trail mix, applesauce, hummus and crackers, yogurt or Gogurt, graham crackers…  The purpose of snack is to provide a nutritious energy booster when the students need it.  Please keep in mind the nutritional value when choosing a snack.
