The Week of May 15th

Weekly Newsletter

Welcome to the Last week of school!
This year has flown by and our final day in Rm 21 quickly approaches. Over the past week, it has become apparent that our community would like to celebrate the end of the year with a pizza party. If each student brings in $1, that would cover the cost of pizza for the class. Please send in all money by Wednesday.  If you would like to volunteer to pick up the pizza, please send me an email.   If you would like to send in an ice cream/ice pop treat for students, please send me an email. Juice has already been provided by a parent.

Packing Up Room 21
Thank you for sending in much needed supplies to help pack up the classroom. We are still in need of bubble wrap and more boxes. If you have either of these items at your home, and would like to donate them, please send them into school at your earliest convenience.

GMAS Retests
GMAS retests will take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. There will be very limited movement in the school during the morning hours of those days. If you have scheduled a morning conference, please make sure that you are on time.
Conferences
I have enjoyed meeting with families to discuss student progress and plans for next year. If you have not signed up for a conference, please use the following link to do so.

The Week of May 8th

Weekly Newsletter

End of the Year at Ellis
All classrooms at Ellis will need to be packed up for renovations before teachers leave school on Tuesday, May 23rd. We will be moving classrooms over the summer, after renovations have been completed. My plan is to continue with small group lessons, research projects, and testing for the next week. **Due to GMAS retakes on 5/15, 5/16 and 5/17 the final 2 days of school will be dedicated to cleaning materials and the classroom. I have had families ask what they can do to be of assistance and these are the ways in which I think families can help with our move. Please donate paper towels, all natural wipes, bubble wrap, painters tape, packing tape, and boxes that are in good condition. Also, if you are available the weekend of May 20th to help us move boxes, please let me know via email. I know that is a tough weekend for families since school ends on the 19th. If you cannot help, don't worry, I've got three teenagers at home that I know will be available that weekend.

Musical Explorers Concert
We had so much fun at the Musical Explorers Concert! Students enjoyed music from Austria, India, and Cuba. What a treat!

Charles Ellis Presents
The Upper Elementary students put on a fantastic show on Thursday! The Lower Elementary learned about the Story of Language while being entertained with music and dancing!
