GEP NEWS

The Ellis GEP students will be helping to serve the homeless community in Savannah by collecting supplies for the Emmaus House. Each day, the Emmaus House serves breakfast and lunch to people who are unable to provide for themselves. We would like to begin by providing supplies needed for serving food. If you are able, please begin sending in some of the following items and we will sort and deliver them Oct 25.
·                     Plastic utensils
·                     Paper plates
·                     Paper bowls
·                     Napkins
·                     Disposable coffee cups
·                     Large aluminum trays/pans

There is a collection box located in the front foyer of Ellis.
Thank You!

Local Farm Bags
The Health and Wellness Committee of the PTA is announcing the return of the Local Farm Bag Program.  Please call 912-272-4202 or follow the link below to place your order!

Field Trips
We still have no definite dates for the make-up field trips to Massey, but we do have a date for the Musical Explorers Field trip in December. I will be sending home a permission slip for this trip, so please be on the lookout for that.

Fall Conferences
Thank you for coming in and meeting with me to discuss your student's progress. I have enjoyed our conferences and am excited to have them completed this week. If you have not yet signed up for a conference, please do so by clicking the link below and choosing a time that best suits your schedule. If none of the times listed work for you, please send me an email and we can find a time that works for all of us.

Cooking in the Classroom
The fire inspector came to Ellis and we found out that having our new oven in the classroom is in violation of the fire code. We will need to use our oven in the cafeteria from now on. Parent volunteers will be necessary to make this happen. So, if you are interested in volunteering to help our students cook in the cafeteria, please send me an email. I will respond to the parent's who have volunteered when we have an activity planned.

Fall Festival
It's almost time for the Annual Fall Festival, which will be held on Friday, October 28!  We need volunteers to assist with the event as well as to donate goods.  If you are interested in volunteering you can contact Kelly Pack at events.ellispta@gmail.com or use the Sign Up Genius below.

Thank you!
